I finally made it here! On Thursday morning, September 30th, my whole family rolled out of bed at 5:30am and we all drove to the Guadalajara airport. After an emotional farewell, I gave them all a final wave and boarded my flight for LAX. Once there, I got my COVID test and YES! I was negative and they got me the results in time for my departure, which was a real relief to say the least! Then as I made my way to the gate for my Kona flight, I saw a large group of beaming young people who were hanging out, eating pizza and having a good time. They were all headed for YWAM Kona, just like me!
I knew right then and there that I was at the right place at the right time and that God has my back!
The Big Island is so gorgeous! The weather is very much like my home in Lake Chapala, Mexico, though maybe a tad more humid. And the coastline is laced with volcanic rock that makes it so unique! What a great environment to get acquainted with my new friends!
Geologists tell us that the Big Island is younger than the others on the Hawaii chain, which is why the terrain is so different. So, in the grand scheme of things, she is just a child! So let’s just say I am enjoying the child-like wonder of this beautiful creation of God.
Psalm 139: 13-16 says:
“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.” (Message Version)
Each and every person is created in God’s image. His love for us all is beyond comprehension. God has laid on my heart this phrase, which I wear as a motto for my life:
“Another person’s soul is worth more to me than my life here on this earth.”
God bless you Destiny! Make Him known!!:)
